The Bitter Diamonds Seeking Players

Description

I recently moved here after having a successful country band for the last 8 years (well, let's call it 7 because I don't think many of us can call the last year a success). The Bitter Diamonds played tons of shows at some really great venues all over Northern California and opened for acts like Whitey Morgan, The Mother Truckers and Shiny Ribs. We also sold a ton of koozies. I've opened solo acoustic shows for Futurebirds and The Mother Hips. I'm a strummer and singer, ready to get back into playing with a band and I'm pretty open to different ideas. Another full blown electric country band would great but I'm also really interested in working more with acoustic instruments like fiddle, mandolin, dobro, standup bass, etc. Not like bluegrass and definitely not a Mumford clone. Really I'd like to create some interesting music that is fun (for the band AND the audience). Maybe an acoustic Pavement type thing? Even if it's acoustic I think a drummer would be key (or maybe a sequencer ala WEEN). I'd be up for working on new originals as a band, or reworking The Bitter Diamonds catalog of 40 plus originals. Covers could be fun too as long as they are interesting. If it's an acoustic thing I'd really like to do stuff like Nick Cave or The Flaming Lips in addition to originals. At the end of the day I just wanna play with some people who like to have fun but also take it serious enough to gig once in awhile. Folk, Country, Alt-Country, Southern Rock, Indie, whatever. And I'm all for a new name but thought it looked good in the posting title. Here is a list of things that might make this come up in your search and some other things I really like, but honestly, I don't listen to Isbell/DBT or Stapleton: Jerry Jeff, Willie, Waylon, and the Boys, Kristofferson, George Jones, David Allen Coe, The Band, Wilco, John Prine, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, Drive By Truckers, Jason Isbell, Shintaro Sakamoto, Dorothy Ashby, Little Wings, Terry Allen, Malkmus, Donnie Benet, Lee Morgan, and ALEX CAMERON.
