Looking for a compassionate and caring individual with movement experience for a part-time opportunity as a caregiver to a 33-year old woman with physical and intellectual challenges. She uses a wheelchair and a walker and relies on daily movement practices to enhance her life. She is a highly motivated, good-natured, kind, and gentle person who enjoys a large social network, loves to sing, draw, listen to music, drink coffee, and meet new people. Caregivers assist with basic daily activities and movement practices. Team of caregivers is made up of all dance artists or those with movement backgrounds. All caregivers receive paid on-the-job, hands-on training. Training pay is $15/hour. Regular pay after training is $20/hour. Requirements: - Available to commit long-term* to work one to two days per week, 11am-7pm. Building a relationship is of utmost importance. - Must live within reasonable commuting distance of the NW Bronx (Van Cortlandt Park area). - Comfortable taking directions, collaborating with peers, and working among special needs/disabled individuals. - Must be fully vaccinated. - Women only, please. - Must be legally allowed to work in the US. *Though we are most interested in finding long-term caregivers, there is an opportunity for short-term work (2-5 months).
