We are currently looking to add a Temporary Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Specialist to our team in Calipatria, CA. The Temporary Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Specialist is a trusted business partner committed to supporting all employees in delivering a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. EH&S provides innovative solutions to reduce risk, resulting in quality performance of our employees and contractors. This is a part time position working 16 – 32 hours/ month. A challenging opportunity exists for a motivated individual to join the Viridos team in Calipatria. Key Responsibilities • Inspects organization facilities (safety audits) to detect existing or potential incident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented • Hold biweekly safety trainings/meetings to discuss relevant topics • Serves on the safety committee and provide guidance and support to the safety committee chair • Conduct incident investigations including the determination of root cause/corrective action • Conduct Job Safety Analysis/Job Hazard Analysis • Ensure that contractor personnel working on the property follow company policies and safety requirements Typical Education & Experience • Two years of EH&S or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education • Two to five years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety role in an industrial or R&D setting. • Working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, nationally recognized standards and guidelines related to assigned environmental health and safety programs Preferred Skills and Education Additional Skills • Degrees and/or certifications in safety / safety engineering is highly desirable. • Team player, demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally • Ability to partner with management and senior staff • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently • Experience in electrical / industrial / construction safety preferred
