Creating the Lerner Community Pledge Last year, the Lerner College and the LDC held listening sessions to discuss the disparities in treatment and inequities in the U.S. brought to light by national events, and leading to unrest and protests. Having dedicated ourselves to listening to our community with empathy, the sessions enabled us to become more aware. While people came to the conversation from different perspectives, they spoke their truth. We reflected on how the Lerner Community can do better. Cultivating diversity and building an inclusive community are part of our core values. This month, the LDC is inviting the Lerner Community to put our core values in action and create a Community Pledge that EVERYONE at Lerner can live by, stand up for and be committed to adhering. In future months, we will be asking the Lerner Community to sign the pledge and will put the pledge and signatures on display so everyone can see. Your voice matters. Please join us.
