She is a mom, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a cousin, a best friend, a significant other, a nurse, and our neighbor. If you know Iva, I don't have to tell you that she is and always has been a nurturing, kind-hearted, caring, and generous person. Iva was diagnosed with unspecified neurological disorders and rare migraines which cause seizures, paralysis, the inability to speak, and may cause long-lasting disabling deficits, coma, or death. She is now suffering long-lasting effects from a recent hospitalization from August 4th - 14th. She was treated for a stroke in the emergency room, spent several days in the ICU before transferring to the neurology unit. She is currently residing at her mother's because she is considered medically homebound and requires 24-hour care. She is receiving home health nursing and rehabilitation services. She is learning to walk on her own, regain normal strength/sensation/use of her right leg & arm, perform normal activities of daily living, and help recover her short and long-term memory loss and speech, amongst other issues. Her condition and contributing factors are still being researched by her medical team, and she will be undergoing many more diagnostic tests, continuing rehabilitation services, doctor's visits, etc. Iva's medical costs are piling up fast and are well beyond her means. Iva needs all the help her friends, family, and community can provide. Therefore, Fay's Finest Foods is donating a generous portion of our Drive-Thru BBQ Dinner proceeds from 10/29 to help Iva pay some of her existing medical bills, insurance premiums, and ease her cost of living expenses.
