Requirements
- HACCP certification
- SQF Practitioner certification
- Management experience in a food manufacturing facility; preferable protein
products
Responsibilities
- Maintain the SQF Program: included but not limited to: informing plant
management and personnel of SQFI program updates, writing SOPs, SSOPs,
and auditing paperwork, maintenance request log, etc.
- Lead the Quality department;
hiring, directing, developing, mentoring, evaluating, and if needed, terminating quality department personnel
- Effectively work with all levels of plant personnel; from the President to line
personnel
- Instruct plant personnel on SQF, GMPS, SSOPs, SOPS,
Liaison with regulatory agencies; including governmental (USDA, etc.), customers
and second- & third-party auditors
- Investigate and if required, respond to customers complaints
- Conduct pre-operations audits, microbiological sample collection, shelf-life
testing (collecting, preparing, evaluating and maintaining shelf-life results), facilities inspection, weekly thermometer calibration
- Conduct validation of plants’ thermometers placement, and any additional
Validation needs
- Fill-in as necessary for QA Inspectors on the production floor
- Duties as requested by owner or President
