This empowerment experience is extended to all who serve or are interested in serving in ministry here at The Light Church. Pastors are under a tremendous amount of pressure. Some of it is obvious, the pressure to preach and present well, to plan and prepare for the future, to protect and be present for their families, staff, and congregations. But there are untold and unseen pressures, pressures your pastor often can’t talk about publicly—the pressure to perform, the pressure to provide, and a relatively new burden, the pressure to pivot and persevere in a pandemic. During this one-day conference, Dr. Vernon will teach our ministry staff and volunteers what Pastor Mark wished they knew about his work. They’ll learn what the pastor needs and how they can help build the ministry and what it really means to honor his voice and vision. We’ll help you see things from a pastoral perspective and spell out explicitly what you can do to participate in alleviating the pastor’s pressure, so he can continue to create, produce, and serve at the highest level possible. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. PURPOSE The Light Church is dedicated to sharing the Light of Jesus Christ through evangelizing the lost, corporate worship and discipleship, holistic improvement, youth mentorship, community outreach and development, family and church fellowship, and economic empowerment.
