New Drive-Up Coronavirus Test Site Opens In Framingham

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Framingham pharmacy has begun offering free coronavirus tests in a drive-up format. The MetroWest Pharmacy, 214 Union Ave., testing is in addition to a drive-up site now available in Ashland at the commuter rail station. Framingham also has a walk-up testing site at Saint Tarcisius Parish, 562 Waverly St. The number of new coronavirus cases in Framingham is steady, according to the latest weekly report from city officials. They reported 71 new cases on Wednesday and a total of 150 active cases. The city also reported one new COVID-19 death, bringing the total to 253 since the beginning of the pandemic. In the previous week ending Oct. 13, the city recorded 44 new positive tests and had 186 active cases. The MetroWest Pharmacy testing site is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Visitors should make an appointment on the pharmacy's website. There's a specially designated parking spot in the pharmacy lot for test-takers. "Even with vaccinations available, testing is as important as ever to help stop the spread," owner Shivang Patel said in a news release.
