POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – An application to tear down the existing single-story commercial property and a two-story residential dwelling and replace it with nine townhomes will be heard at Thursday night's meeting of the Point Pleasant Beach Board of Adjustment. The application is seeking a variance so that it can move on with the project. The two lots, located on 308 Channel Drive and 311 Broadway, are located in the borough's Marine Commercial zone, where townhomes are not permitted. The applicants, Crecenzo Group, LLC, are seeking the variance to build two buildings that will house the nine townhouse units, which according to their application, would be an approvement to the zone. "The proposed improvements would modernize the site and promote and provide adequate housing opportunities and would have a positive impact on the community public health, safety, and welfare," the application stated. The meeting will take place Thursday night at 7:30 at the borough's courtroom on 416 New Jersey Avenue and can also be watched on the borough's YouTube page.
