Description

By John Gibson, WNIN Oct. 21, 2021 The Indiana State Police will join agencies across the U.S. this Saturday collecting old prescription drugs. The ISP says it's partnering with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration for the 21st "Prescription Drug Take Back" initiative. Residents can drop off liquid and pill medications anonymously with no questions asked. Vaping pens without batteries and vaping cartridges will also be accepted. Needles, new or used, will NOT be accepted for disposal. The idea behind the "Take Back" initiative is to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal. Prescriptions will be collected at state police posts across Indiana -- including posts at Evansville and Jasper -- on Saturday. WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
