FraidyCat 5K, Ghost Run 8K Are Sunday; Roads Will Close: Police

OSWEGO, IL — The 11th annual Healthy Driven races are happening Sunday, and runners are gearing up for the 8K Ghost Run, FraidyCat 5K and Meow Mile. Drivers should also prepare ahead and expect congestion on Oswego roads between 9 a.m. and noon, police said. The Meow Mile is expected to start at 9 a.m. at Prairie Point Elementary School, located at 3650 Grove Road, while the 5K and 8K will start between 9:15-9:30 a.m. Part of the latter races will take place on a bike path. The races will be run rain or shine, organizers said. Everyone participating in the 5K and 8K will receive finisher medals. All Meow Mile runners will get ribbons and awards will go out to the top three men and women finishers in each age group. On Sunday, drivers should expect delays on the following roads, according to police. Registration, which can be completed here, will be open until 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 24. Same-day registration is also an option, but those who take this route will be in the last group to start the race, according to the event's website. All races cost $50 per person, except for youth who will pay $25 to run the Meow Mile. More information about the Healthy Driven races can be found on the event's website.
