McHenry County Government: Virtual Open Houses Scheduled For Draft Fox River Corridor Plan

Press release from the McHenry County Government: 10/21/2021 8:36 AM WOODSTOCK, Ill. – McHenry County, the City of McHenry, and the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning are holding two virtual open houses to seek feedback from the public on the draft Fox River Corridor Plan. Guided by more than 18 months of community input, the plan presents a unified vision for the Fox River Corridor study area, which stretches eight miles from North Chapel Hill Road in Johnsburg south to Burtons Bridge at Route 176. The plan identifies strategies to spur economic investment, protect natural resources, enhance recreational amenities, improve bicycle and pedestrian access, and promote local and regional collaboration. The open houses will be held via Zoom from 2 to 4 p.m., and from 7 to 9 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Attendees will be able to review the draft plan and provide feedback through small- and large-group discussions. The study area includes the municipalities of McHenry, Johnsburg, Holiday Hills and Prairie Grove, and unincorporated Burtons Bridge, as well as numerous conservation areas, parks and nature preserves.
