ELMHURST, IL — A Elmhurst man was arrested after police responded to the burglary of a restaurant earlier this week. About 1 a.m. Monday, police responded to a burglar alarm at Chick-fil-A, 235 S. Route 83, where they discovered a shattered door, police said. They found the suspect, identified as Robert S. Cairo, 20, who lives in the 100 block of East Grantley Avenue. Cairo was found to be in possession of a watch, a TV monitor and an Xbox One gaming console, police said. Cairo admitted he stole the items from an unlocked car that same night in the 100 block of Fellows Court, according to a police report. Late Saturday night, a resident in the 300 block of South Scott Street told police that Cairo entered her house while holding a knife, according to a report. Cairo said her son owed him money and demanded the woman provide him with prescription drugs. He then left. Cairo was charged with two counts of burglary, aggravated robbery and theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail, where he remained as of Thursday afternoon, according to the jail's website.
