Press release from the City of Albany: 10/20/2021 5:00 PM The following provides a summary of actions taken by the City Council as part of the regular meeting on October 18, 2021: Review of Advisory Body Work Plan - The Council reviewed work plan submitted by the Planning & Zoning Commission and approved the work plan with minor modifications. Update on Eucalyptus on Albany Hill: The Council received the presentation and adopted Resolution No. 2021-105, authorizing establishment of the Albany Hill Eucalyptus Project and appropriating $100,000 for the project. New Mixed-Use Development at 540 San Pablo Avenue (PA21-002): The Council adopted Resolution No. 2021-106 and 2021-107, determining the project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines and approving Design Review, Density Bonus and street tree removal for the project. Urgency Ordinance No. 2021-10: The Council adopted Urgency Ordinance No. 2021-10 to revise the repayment period for unpaid rent and rent increases under the commercial eviction moratorium during the COVID-19 pandemic to be effective immediately. A landlord shall not commence an eviction during this repayment period so long as the tenant pays the unpaid back rent (or rent increases) that accrued during the eviction moratorium by September 30, 2022 and is current on then-due rent. Multi-Family Electric vehicle Charging Pilot Program: The Council authorized staff to create the Multi-Family Electric Vehicle Charging Pilot Program with consultation of the Energy Council staff, and fund and track the program with revenues associated with Measure DD.
