PHOENIX, AZ — The worker killed Wednesday afternoon when an SUV smashed into a work truck parked in a median was identified as Alex Gonzalez, 59. Gonzalez was standing behind the truck parked in the median near the intersection of Cave Creek Road and Dynamite Boulevard when the SUV hit it, causing the truck to hit him, police said. Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The driver of the SUV is in stable condition at a local hospital, police said. His identity was not released.
