WOBURN, MA — Two Olympic judo medalists, Jimmy Pedro and Travis Stevens, recently opened a new martial arts school in Woburn with partner Riley McIlwain. Fuji Martial Arts Academy Woburn opened at 400 West Cummings Park, #1800 on Oct. 11. The school teaches judo and jiu-jitsu. Pedro won bronze medals in judo at the 1996 and 2004 Olympics, while Stevens won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics. It's free! "We are very excited to be coming to Woburn" said owner Jimmy Pedro in a news release. "I've been in operating Pedro's Judo Center in Wakefield since 2003 and love the community and I am very excited to continue to help people in the surrounding towns continue to grow through martial arts. Along with Travis Stevens and Riley McIlwain, I am very eager to grow martial arts in the community." Combined, Pedro, Stevens and McIlwain have over 60 years of martial arts training experience, according to the news release.
