JOB DESCRIPTIONS: Landscape Foreman We are searching for a responsible, self-starter to be our new Landscape Foreman and manage a groundskeeping team. The landscape foreman's responsibilities include overseeing the construction of outdoor spaces and maintaining existing grounds, monitoring and training workers, supervising the use of equipment, ensuring staff observe safety guidelines and protocols, and completing various administrative duties. You should also have leadership skills and sound knowledge of overall lawn maintenance. To be successful as a landscape foreman, you should be able to both follow and provide instructions. A top-notch landscape foreman should constantly be expanding their horticulture knowledge, be a keen problem-solver, and possess remarkable communication skills. Responsibilities: * Delegating tasks and overseeing the use of tools and equipment. * Recruiting and training new crew members. * Assessing progress and making recommendations. * Ensuring all crew members obey health and safety regulations at all times. * Completing landscape construction based off designs and/or instructions. * Overseeing maintenance of lawns and gardens, and ensuring proper use of pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals. * Completing inventory checks and equipment inspections. * Preparing spreadsheets and other documents. * Providing cost, material, equipment, and time estimates. * Scheduling training sessions wherever required. Requirements: * Valid Driver’s License * Willing to go through a background check * Able to drive a truck and trailer * High school diploma. * Relevant education certificate may be required. * Knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping. * On-the-job training as a landscape crew member. * Experience in a leadership role would be advantageous. * Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions. * Proven experience is a must Landscape/Lawn-care Technician As a landscape technician, your job duties include planting vegetation, such as sod, shrubberies, trees, and flowers; installing hardscape features like fountains, lighting, and walkways; and performing grounds keeping tasks, like removing weeds, pruning plants, mulching flower beds, and fertilizing lawns. Responsibilities * Performs landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, fertilizer application, weed control, aeration, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, trimming, and pruning * Operates a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to bed edgers, commercial mowers, blowers, dump trailers, chainsaws, line trimmers, and tillers * Performs landscape enhancement activities such as mulch application, plantings, top soil application, lawn seeding * Drives company vehicle to customer location * Responds on a timely basis to customer requests for in-person service calls * Assists in sales to current customers through contact on route * Performs a daily inspection of your truck and equipment before taking the vehicle out on the road and upon return * Completes production reports, daily vehicle inspection report * Maintains vehicle and equipment through cleanliness, safety, and general maintenance * Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on a daily basis Requirements * Must be 18 years of age or older. * Must be able to lift 50lbs. * Valid driver's license. * Willing to go through background check. * Ability to properly and safely operate tools and equipment. * Ability to plan and communicate with team members. * Basic plant & tree knowledge preferred. * General construction and masonry experience * General landscaping knowledge * Equipment maintenance & management * Ability to read & interpret blueprints/plans/build specifications * Landscape masonry experience with stone, brick and concrete * Project engineering and layout * Working knowledge of tools and equipment Schedule: * 10 hour shift * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Monday to Friday * Weekend availability Job Type: Full-time Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour depending on experience and position Ben O’Kane O’Kane Lawn & Landscape 512.738.two185
