The Entry Level Industrial Painter will need to have the ability to complete surface preparation, masking, coating/lining and painting of metal, concrete or plastic components to a highly protected, and sometimes cosmetic finish with safety and quality standards. Entry Level Industrial Painters will need to have the ability to operate heavy machinery, requiring stamina and physical strength. Maintain sprayers and painting equipment to ensure they are in great working order. Alternative shift times may be required per project and various work environments such as temperature, climate, and conditions will vary depending on the project. Traveling within CA is needed, however, outside CA. is negotiable. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Entry Level Industrial Painter will be responsible for the following: surface preparation, masking, coating/lining and painting of metal, concrete or plastic components to a highly protected, and sometimes cosmetic finish. Select paint/coating according to company requirements following specified color charts, and the ability to match paint colors Clean/prepare surfaces prior to layering paint to ensure proper adherence and quality. Be able to remove previous paint surfaces using chemical solvents or solutions Safely dispose of chemical waste in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policy. Ability to utilize appropriate painting techniques based on the nature of the surface in order to ensure the best possible outcome. Be able to utilize special safety equipment related to job requirements. Paint small items and perform touch-ups. Ensure proper ventilation after paint is applied. Demonstrate company organizational commitment to ensuring quality products, safety procedures and processes aligned with company values QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED. Up to 1 year or more of general painting experience (Preferred but not required) OSHA and Fall Protection Certified, on-site training may be provided per project (Preferred but not required) Experience as an industrial painter (primarily manufacturing however auto body painting is accepted). Ability to be proficient with technical machinery. Such as: forklifts, generators, compressors, etc. Ability to have proper physical strength to operate machinery with diligence and attention to detail. Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Good organizational skills. General/Beginner computer knowledge such as: google drive, navigating documents in Microsoft, timesheet tracking, etc. Medical Evaluation required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job employees are frequently required to sit for periods at a time, use hands and fingers to maneuver, handle, or feel various objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Good verbal communication in both talking and listening Arm-Hand Steadiness Near Vision Visual Color Discrimination Packing trucks with supplies as well as picking up and choosing paint/coatings. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving and/or high temperature mechanical equipment and parts. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate but at times infrequently, can be loud. Various work environments such as temperature, climate, and conditions will vary depending on each project. Must be comfortable with heights and scaffolding.
