Why you ask, because no one else can and sometimes we get a little help from our friends now and then. If we don't China dominates the world on their whims and the world becomes China's chew toy. You're not aware of how totalitarian regimes like Communist China operate which is you submit or die. The people of Taiwan don't want to be controlled by Xi Jinping, they've done pretty well for themselves for over 70 years and plan on keeping it that way with our help and that of the world community.
If China is the lone superpower occupying other nations physically and economically your healthcare won't be shit. Wise up!
Ummm....why do we have to be the "World Police"?
Why is it "our job" to defend Taiwan?
Is this not something the UN was created for to resolve?
Why is it okay for us to stick our nose into everyone else's issues?
And yes I don't agree with the notion of one country invading another (gee we don't do that do we?) I am always amazed at some people's view that WE should do something. You people piss and moan about spending money on healthcare and immigration reform but have no problem spending hundreds of billions defending people around the world.
More times than not it's a business thing. Not about democracy, or human rights, just money.
But that's okay in your world? Really?
