Great Hills Constructors, a member of The Walsh Group is currently seeking a Traffic Control Laborer for the WWTT/ 183 North Mobility Project, in Austin, Texas. The Traffic Control Laborer is responsible for various traffic control duties on construction projects; tasked with properly directly live traffic in and around active construction zones for protection and safety of public and employees. There are many compelling reasons why exceptional people should consider a career with our company: Challenging, complex projects Creative and innovative problem solving environment Supportive, communicative managers who reward your success Opportunities for growth, training, and development Flexibility to build what you want, where you want Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Control flow of traffic around construction jobsite Oversees proper erection, placement, and removal of traffic control materials Maintain traffic control supplies as needed May be required to ensure that flag persons are properly trained for duty Remove disabled vehicles from lanes: arrange for a local towing company to tow the vehicle when necessary. Transport driver and passengers to a safe location within 5 miles of the disabled vehicle. Make local emergency telephone calls for stranded motorist. Report dangerous traffic conditions or incidents. Notify the Texas Department of Public Safety of unattended vehicles. Provide fuel and assistance to facilitate the quickest removal of the vehicle. Provide support in changing tires as needed. Perform vehicle push maneuvers when able. Qualifications 3-5 Years Verifiable Experience Preferred Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions. Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly. Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn. Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.
