About the job The carpenter role is responsible for carrying out furniture design plans specific to custom client orders. This position is physical in nature and will require the individual to be able to stand, lift, bend, reach, and manipulate. The use of many types of tools including power tools is required. The most important attribute we are looking for is a candidate who is positive, willing to learn, and grow with the company. Job Duties • Ensure that the client experience is the number one priority. • Take measurements to mark furniture dimensions or layout using tools such as rules, tapes, and pencils. • Produce wooden components by cutting and shaping raw materials with the aid of hand or power saws, and planes. • Responsible for the installation of wood add-ons such as hinges, drawer handles, and door locks. • Perform special projects as needed and/or assigned by Store Management. • Position is full time, Monday – Friday, may be required to work Saturdays as determined by store needs. Skills and Qualifications • This position does not require prior carpentry experience, only a drive to learn the trade and create the highest quality pieces for Scout clients.
