Updated 10/20/21 JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Janitor Job duties: The janitors will work under the supervision of the Executive Director or her assignee. The janitor will assist in all the aspects of security and maintenance of the building. In addition, working along with the temporary workers that are assigned to maintain the building will help to ensure a smooth functioning of the office. Keep inventory of cleaning supplies, office supplies, equipment. Specific Responsibilities Include: • Dust and damp mop floors • Clean bathrooms • Vacuum and remove trash • Strip and finish floors • Move furniture • Shove snow and maintain outside grounds • Create and uncrate furniture, remove tile affixed to floor, cleanup in connection with construction, paint, and repair. • Participate in non-partisan outreach and advocacy • Meet with the supervisor for new projects • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a High School Diploma, GED and or one year of related experience. Bilingual/Bicultural Spanish/English preferred. Must have ability to work with a collaborative diverse group and be able to perform all duties listed above. Communications skills and ability to interact with people of different professional levels and social groups is required.
