Description: The position consists of operating a B CDL required rollback delivery truck. Deliver and pick up various types of construction equipment and tools to and from customer jobsites in a safe and timely manner as directed by dispatch. Additional responsibilities include instructing customers on the safe and proper operation of the equipment, maintaining customer relations through exceptional customer service, filling out paperwork and following all DOT regulations and requirements. Working Conditions: Fast paced working environment with extended hours that requires frequent lifting and a significant degree of walking, bending and transporting objects of various weights and dimensions. The majority of work is completed outside, with exposure to the general range of weather, traffic and construction jobsite conditions. Stooping, crouching, bending, lifting, lowering, reaching, twisting, pulling, pushing, carting and carrying are intermittent tasks that routinely occur. There is exposure to chemicals such as gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and cleaning solvents. The position also requires constant interaction with co-workers and customers. Position Requirements: Candidates applying for this position should possess the following qualifications: • Must possess and maintain a Class B CDL License • Must be at least 21 years of age or older • Must possess a current health card • Must possess and maintain a good driving record • Must be willing to work extended hours and on Saturday • Must possess customer relation skills • Must be knowledgeable of the geographical layout of the area and be able to read maps • Must be detail orientated • Must have neat and legible handwriting • Must maintain a professional personal appearance • Must be able to communicate in English. Ability to speak another language is a plus • Must possess good communication skills to enable communication with customers and co-workers • Basic mechanical knowledge and skills are a plus • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record. • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers. • Must be able to grasp and apply new information quickly • Must pass company drug screen. • Must have a full range of motion and dexterity to frequently climb in and out equipment • Be able to frequently lift 25 to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift 90 lbs. • Knowledge of construction rental equipment is a plus • Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not required • Personnel in this position perform multiple functions. Some duties include but are not limited to the following: • Duties and Responsibilities: • Load, unload and transport equipment to and from customer jobsites • Secure loaded equipment per DOT regulations and company procedures • Tow and back trailers and other towable equipment • Maintain customer relations by consistently being courteous, professional and helpful. Drivers are considered an extension of sales. • Ensure the equipment being delivered is in proper and safe condition • Instruct customers in the proper and safe use of equipment and demonstrate operation • Review rental contracts to ensure the right equipment goes out and that the customer receives exactly what they ordered • Secure customer signatures on all deliveries, exchanges, moves and return paperwork • Fill out return receipts, exchange slips, and delivery contracts with the pertinent information such as hour meter readings, fuel quantities and special notes regarding damage or mechanical issues • Notify Branch Manager of damaged equipment • May deliver and pick up branch supplies as needed • Maintain a clean delivery truck to company standards, which includes regular washing of exterior and cleaning interior • Perform daily inspections of truck and trailer as per DOT regulations and company procedures • Fill out and turn in detailed and accurate vehicle inspection reports daily • Notify dispatch and management of needed repairs and regular maintenance • Maintain a safe working environment by following all driving laws, jobsite regulations and wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hat, harness and lanyard, traffic vest and using traffic cones and truck beacons • Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites. • Maintain and comply with company procedures and policies. • Tag and move broken equipment to repair area. • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form. • Assist with general yard duties when required Job Type: Full-time
