****GREAT PAY, FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE****NO WEEKENDS**** Looking for an experienced Automotive Technician with either extensive experience and /or ASE certifications. This is a full time position at a busy repair facility in Longwood. **** New 7000 Sq Ft building with multiple lifts. We buy a lot of specialty tools to make your job easier. **** Plans for indoor air conditioning for the shop soon. You must: - Be able to pass a drug test and background check. - Have a valid drivers license and able to legally work in the United States. - Have reliable transportation - Have your own set of tools. Although I have my own I share the shop tools and special tools and invest when necessary. - Have an awesome attitude - Have an eagerness to work and learn WARNING!!! I am NOT looking for a parts replacer or an apprentice. I need someone who can hit the ground running. Pay is according to experience and certifications, and I value and respect the the technicians in this field. Responsibilities and Duties You will be responsible for: - The proper diagnosis and repair of customer's vehicle. - Performing vehicle inspections and filling out inspection sheets. - Keeping your bay, equipment, tools and customers vehicle neat and clean. - Communication with employees, management, service advisor, etc. - Arriving on time, leave your problems at home. - Helping to keep a cheerful attitude and atmosphere in the workplace :) - Hours are generally Monday - Friday 8-5ish. I like to have weekends off. In a perfect world everything goes according to plan but sometimes a Saturday may be necessary. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. (ie: brake rotors, batteries, etc.) Qualifications and Skills Again you must have ASE certifications AND/OR extensive experience with diagnostics in the following areas: (Another words I would like to see a minimum of one or two ASE certifications in total but at lease be strong in the following areas) - Engine mechanical - Electrical - Air conditioning - Heating and cooling systems - Brakes - Maintenance - Timing belts / water pumps - Proper engine light and drivability diagnostics - Proper and accurate diagnostics of electrical concerns including shorts, current draws, etc. My facility does not do alignments, tire installation or balancing, and generally I do not get involved with transmission rebuilds or engine rebuilds. Typically I can offer a used, rebuilt or reman engine or transmission. I do expect you to be knowledgeable of how transmissions function and of course be able to remove and replace when necessary. Tires and alignment services are available locally to me but perhaps in the future I will get involved. For now, most of the work I get is brakes, alternators, water pumps, timing belts, tune ups, etc. I like the gravy work as much as you do, haha.
