The “Commanders” have a rich history of performances and are a popular musical outlet for gifted cadets.
The ensemble, originated by cadets in 1917, originally known as the “Ramblin’ Keydets,” was renamed the “Commanders” in 1931, when big bands ruled the earth. Throughout it’s colorful past, cadets have performed for hundreds of people, and have had many notables sit in with the band including: singer Pat Boone, xylophonist Lionel Hampton and Johnny Long.
