This event features the Intergenerational Women's African Drumming and Dance Ensemble of Denver, Colorado. 2021 Pre-Kwanzaa African Marketplace and Cultural Festival Saturday, November 20, 2020 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm Hillside Community Center 925 South Institute Street Colorado Springs, CO Price: Free This fun, family friendly community event is free and open to the public. Come on November 2nd from 12 noon to 4 pm at the Hillside Community Center (located at 925 S. Institute) for the 2019 Pre-Kwanzaa African Marketplace and Cultural Festival featuring a variety of African craft, professionals, artists & merchants. Unique cultural art, clothing, and crafts will be available for purchase. Meet several members of dynamic community organizations and businesses and learn about their programs & services. This event will also feature a special performance by poets, spoken-word artists, storytellers, and a special performance by the Intergenerational Women’s African Drumming and Dance Ensemble of Denver. This community event is a prelude to our 32th Annual Colorado Springs Citywide Kwanzaa Celebration December 26-31st. This event is presented by the Kuumba Cultural Collective of Southern Colorado (formerly known as the Colorado Springs Citywide Kwanzaa Celebration). We are a Colorado nonprofit organization. Dr. Young is founded the Colorado Springs Citywide Kwanzaa Celebration 27 years ago and is a long-time community volunteer, educator, and mental health professional.
