We are a large refrigerated warehouse located in Ridgewood Queens. Please read carefully... Start time is no later than 4:00am This job is a mixture of porter and maintenance... The early morning hours are spent mostly outside bringing our equipment back into our warehouse after our customers load their orders while parked in the street. You will be keeping the area free of debris and equipment to keep a safe work environment for all. You will have a team member with you in this part of the position as this is a 2 man job. This job is performed in good and bad weather! When it snows, some shoveling/snow blowing and salting are required (although we do also have our own snow plow this is needed on parts of the sidewalk) After the morning "rush" is over, you will continue to use basic porter skills like cleaning of bathrooms, sweeping, moping, cleaning of offices, emptying garbage, cleaning warehouse and using floor cleaning machine in the warehouse floors. As for the maintenance part of the job, some time spent may be spent in a refrigerated warehouse performing minor repairs that can be expected in an active warehouse. From time to time, you will also be asked to perform basic repairs and maintenance on several other buildings we own in Brooklyn and Queens. We are closed on weekends. Hours are 4am to 1pm Monday to Thursday and 4am to 12 Noon on Fridays. *Starting pay is $20.00/Hour *Overtime paid for all time worked before 4am (we actually arrive before 4am and if you start before 4, you are paid OT) * you will go back on OT again after you reach 8 hours EACH DAY!! *1 week paid vacation after 1 year of service *2 weeks vacation after 2 years of service *Medical, dental and vision benefits available after 3 months of service *Profit sharing *401K with an additional 3% of your salary put in weekly for you by the company after 3 months of service.
