The roots of the Coyote Bill Boogie Band are in the Chicago area, but this group has been a staple in the Kansas City music scene since 2007. Coyote Bill has been serving up his own brand of high energy, slide-guitar driven Gutbucket Blues and House Rockin' Boogie all over the KC Metro and the surrounding region. On any given night one may find the Coyote Bill Boogie Band performing almost anywhere- from upscale clubs and restaurants to rough-and-tumble biker bars and rural roadhouses, from summer festivals to benefits for the homeless. No matter what the scenario, they always put on an electrifying show that keeps the audience entertained. The Coyote Bill Boogie Band has been nominated for the Pitch Music Award for Best Blues Band in 2010 and 2012, and has performed at the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, Arkansas on four occasions. In 2014 they won the Kansas City Blues Society Band Challenge and represented KC in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2015. The Coyote Bill Boogie Band has also played the Coleman Hawkins Blues Festival in St Joseph, MO, the Winter Blues Festival in Des Moines, IO, the Soaring Wings Blues Festival in Omaha, NE, the International Folk Alliance and the Middle Of The Map festival in Kansas City, MO. Since 2009, the Coyote Bill Boogie Band has hosted an annual fundraiser and clothing drive for Care Of Poor People Inc, and organization that helps Kansas City’s homeless community.
