You probably don't need a manager. Maybe a shrink would be better. The music industry is very congested. Or you could say that it needs an enema. But after you reexamine your life's dreams you might wonder, "Should I get a manager?" The answer is "NO". Managers are blood sucking thieves that rob your money. That is what is general said about managers in the newspapers. But then again if they said something nice, I don't think they would sell many papers. Should I be a manager? No, because even if I write a clearly written contract with you and explain what is in the contract and give you ample time to contact a music lawyer so that what is said in the contract is verified, it still doesn't hold water because juries hate managers because of what the public opinion is that artists are the world and manager's even the good angelic ones are shipped to earth straight from the depths of hell. So why would I want to be a manager now? The answer is simple. Video. Video the whole process from beginning to end of my managing a band. If the jury sees me in action, they will be like screw the egotistical artist who can't get his act together in spice of having such an ideal manager. Basically, the kind of artist I'm looking for can't be narcissistic. I'm looking for a band or musicians to formulate a band. No ego's. I've been with too many bands that have that one guy to cause a deal breaker even with a written contract stating for him/her not to back stab the other band members. So, I want to try something new. I'm going to video the new band and if a band member screws it up. I'll release the video so that the jury will know what an *%$$ he/she was. The first thing you should know about good managers is that our management contracts are only for one year. The manager isn't your butler or is there to cater towards your whims. He is there to help you make money in the music industry. And, if you make money then he makes a percentage of that. Sometimes managers pay for things out of their own pocket. Those are the types of managers that get into trouble with the client. You know all that he said she said business. In that case, he paid she paid business. The second thing you should know about managers is they don't want to hear your complaints. They want to hear the complaints of your fans. It's like a football team, you execute a play and then if it's successful the play is kept. If not successful, the play is redrafted. I don't want to hear your complaints. As it pertains to the money, you earn or a balance sheet and financial reports any decent manager would give that to you without you having to ask. As far as an itinerary, that should be worked out without asking. If should be understood, that you are an artist. However, if you think all those artists are a sell out for not suffering in obscurity like you. (me shaking my head) You have no idea what art is. Art is about taking chances. The public is the measuring tape to see how far you get. If you think you sing terribly and I suggest that you sing this or that song, I don't want to hear argument. I want to hear an artist with guts to put it out there. What if they boo? Even if you're a great singer, they get booed also. But they are artist because they are "performing artists" and you can't be that type of artist unless you "PERFORM". In reality, one of you top notch non egoistical artists is going to answer this ad. We will set up an appointment and hopefully when you hear my credentials and I hear your music, we can start a marvelous venture. Thank you for reading this awkward ad.
