The Installation Technician will primarily be responsible for installation and service of a variety of cable and wire systems along with installing and servicing security camera’s and access control systems. This position safely and professionally completes, coordinates, and directs work related to PSOL services projects, including pulling and installing voice, data, security, coax, and fiber cable, splicing and termination of cabling, testing and inspecting of cable and troubleshoot cabling issues. Installing equipment racks and patch panels. Installing and servicing security cameras and access control systems/hardware. Creating and completing Service/Inspection reports and other necessary paperwork, while maintaining established PSOL Company Customer Service levels. The ideal candidate will possess troubleshooting skills and a desire to learn new technologies and procedures. The overall nature and scope of the position could potentially evolve as the candidates skills expand, leading to additional responsibilities and a deeper role within our company. Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Install all low-voltage cable in a professional manner, including but not limited to: voice, data, security, coax, & fiber optic cable • Install, service, and repair commercial security cameras and access control systems/hardware • Understands and adheres to PSOL safety guidelines including focusing on and consistently practicing safety as a top priority for all projects completed • Demonstrates a lead by example process in safety compliance and ensures others utilize all appropriate safety equipment and procedures • Acts as working supervisor for the projects to which assigned • Responsible for supervising and coordinating projects in coordinating and planning work schedules from instructions or special assignments received from the Supervisor/Manager either verbally or written • Ability to learn testing procedures and cable certification • Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and repair/replace as needed • Ability to install racks and patch panels • Regularly completes all written documentation based on PSOL and customer requirements Requirements • Must be a team player • Must be very clean, neat, and orderly • Eagerness to learn • Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment • Strong Customer Service skills • Excellent communication skills o Strong written & verbal skills • Ability to multi-task • Strong organizational skills • Detail & task oriented • Technical support (or customer support) experience • Reliable transportation o Valid US Driver’s license in good standing with proof of auto insurance o Must have an excellent driving record • Ability to terminate cable according to color codes • Ability to push/pull and feed cable vertically/horizontally into closets, cable trays, between walls, ceilings and floors, etc. Work Conditions • Carry and climb ladders • Carry items up to 75 pounds • Perform overhead tasks • Work in tight spaces including but not limited to: attics, crawl spaces, on lifts, on ladders, in tight office spots (under/in between) desks, corporate cubicles, etc. Please read the qualifications for this position carefully.
