From the Perspective of the patient, the needle portion of the hospital stay can be the most daunting, this class is where it ends. This course provides RNs and other healthcare workers with the tools to be competent in placing IV lines. The instructor has been in the field for a while, recognizes that IVs are a typical part of the care that a patient receives, and thus this skill needs to be mastered. This is the class where you get to master that skill. You will be building your IV skills from the ground up, starting from proper assessment skills, to proper insertion technique, all resulting in a greater success rate on the first attempt and better patient care. The needle portion of the hospital stay has long been a horror story for many patient, here is where we get better at placing them so this horror story turns into a fairy tale.
