Kick off "Welcome the World" week with a discussion about refugee resettlement in Iowa.
LSI Refugee and Immigrant Services and the Drake Community Action Board will present a discussion with local experts about refugee resettlement in Iowa and how we can continue the long legacy of being a welcoming community.
The discussion will be held at Sussman Theater in the Olmsted Building on the campus of Drake University and kicks off a week of awareness and advocacy.
This is a free event but registration is encouraged as space is limited.
"Welcome" is something LSI has been expressing to refugees since WWII. LSI's Refugee Community Services continue to welcome Iowa's newest neighbors by providing education, family services, and economic development programs to help them get started on their path to citizenship and building a new life in Iowa.
