Early-Morning Fire Leaves Tampa Family Homeless

TAMPA, FL — Although no one was injured, a house fire has left a Tampa family homeless. Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the fire in the 1100 block of East Humphrey Street at 12:38 a.m. Wednesday morning and found smoke and flames coming from the living room of the single-family home. The family was able to get out of the house before firefighters arrived and the Red Cross was called to assist them. The Tampa Fire Rescue fire investigator determined the cause to be a person smoking while on an oxygen machine.
