SALEM, MA — Salem will hold early, in-person voting for the Nov. 2 citywide general election beginning Saturday at Salem High School. Voting will be in the Salem High auditorium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Starting Monday, early voting moves to the City Hall Annex on Washington Street. Parking will be available in the Sewall Street YMCA lot. Early voting continues at City Hall Annex on Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and concludes Thursday (Oct. 28) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Those voting are reminded that Salem has an indoor face mask mandate. Extra masks will be available at the voting sites for those who need them. For those unable to wear a face covering, there will be a designated area where residents will be able to cast a ballot. Those voting must leave the precinct immediately after voting. Sanitized pens will be available, but voters are allowed to use their own blue or black ink pens. Red ink marks will not be read by the voting machine. Voters are advised to bring an ID. In some cases, voters may be required to show an ID. This does not have to be a government-issued, photo ID, but it must have the voter's name and address. Accepted IDs include a utility, paycheck stub and driver's license.
