NEW HAVEN, CT —A 55-year-old New Haven man was struck by gunfire on Chatham Street overnight, police said. Just before 4 a.m., police got 911 calls about gunshots on Chatham between Rowe and Ferry streets, according to New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway. The man who was shot was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was listed in stable condition, Shumway said. Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304. Callers may remain anonymous or submit tips anonymously by calling 1-866-888-TIPS(8477), or text "NHPD plus your message" to 274637 (CRIMES).
