BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport woman, who is also a licensed caregiver, pleaded guilty this week to first-degree manslaughter in the beating death of her 61-year-old uncle, Robert Jones, in 2017, the Connecticut Post reported.
Tynisha Hall had been charged with murder, but agreed to plead to the lesser charge of manslaughter, in addition to first-degree abuse of an elderly person and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.
Prosecutors reportedly will seek a 15-year prison term when Hall is sentenced in mid-December.
Jones, a Trumbull resident who also was disabled, was found dead in Hall's home in early February 2017. Hall claimed she had brought him to her Bridgeport home to care for him, but medical examiners said he had been dead for some time before police were called.
