PASADENA, CA — Pasadena Humane is giving pet owners the chance to immortalize their four-legged companions in "spooky, festive works of art." They just won't be any good.
The nonprofit organization is holding what it's calling a "poorly drawn pets fundraiser." For $15, Pasadena Humane volunteers will hand-draw a person's animal into a Halloween-themed portrait. The organization said it makes no promises of a volunteer's artistic abilities.
"We're a lot better at caring for animals than we are at drawing them," the organization said in a Facebook post.
To get a portrait, pet owners will need to make their donation through a special fundraiser post on Pasadena Humane's Facebook page, then upload a picture of their pet in the comments section, the organization said.
It's one photo per donation and two pets per photo. Submissions for donations and portraits are accepted until Oct. 21.
Pasadena Humane said it was inspired by similar portrait fundraisers put on by Baltimore's BARCS Animal Shelter and the Wisconsin Humane Society.
