Press release from Lehigh Carbon Community College: October 19, 2021 LCCC's SHINE (Schools and Homes in Education) Afterschool Program, is a nationally recognized after-school program administered by Lehigh Carbon Community College. The program serves students from nine rural school districts in Carbon and Schuylkill counties covering 700+ square miles in Northeast Pennsylvania. Emphasis is on teaching children in science, technology, engineering, art and math. Lights On Afterschool was launched nationwide in October 2000, and provides millions of children, who are alone and unsupervised after school, with programs that help working families keep their children safe and inspire learning.
