'City Girl' Erin Mullen Appointed As Falls Township Supervisor

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — Erin Mullen always figured she would be a big-city resident for life before she said she discovered the charm of what living in Falls Township can offer. Now, Mullen will represent her community on the Board of Supervisors after she was sworn in earlier this week to replace Jeff Rocco on the board. Mullen, a township resident since 2008, will fill the vacancy on the board after Rocco resigned from the seat in September. Rocco cited growing work responsibilities for his reasoning behind leaving the board. Mullen will finish out Rocco's term, which runs through the end of 2023. She told board members at Monday night's meeting that her appointment to the board is different than if she had sought to be elected. Mullen was recommended for the seat on the board by Supervisors chairman Jeff Dence. The Philadelphia native who has worked as a paralegal for 20 years said she looks forward to serving a community she admittedly never expected to join. "But I was smitten by the local charm of things like Fallsington Day, Falls Township Community Park and a fondness for my neighbors," Mullen said, according to a news release announcing her appointment to the board. She added: "If I have a goal here, it is to uphold the community that has gifted me so much while increasing its availability to others."
