WOODBURY, MN — Woodbury was once again named one of the best cities in America to live. Money Magazine ranked Woodbury as the 29th best city in America, touting its recent "building spree" and its proximity to the Twin Cities as major selling points. The magazine also credited the city's record of bringing new businesses and jobs to the area, writing "job opportunities are predicted to increase by 10 percent by 2025. Woodbury Urgency Room Helping ERs Cope With 'Incredible' Demand The ranking also noted that Woodbury boasts more than 3,000 acres of park space. Woodbury was ranked as the ninth best city in America in 2020. The city was ranked No. 10 in 2018. Money Magazine's 35th annual "The 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S." list highlights "where job growth is rising, home prices are affordable and the quality of life shines." Woodbury Voters Urged To Request Ballot By Tuesday Woodbury had a median home price of about $351,000 and a median household income of nearly $114,000, according to the 2021 ranking. Chanhassen, Minnesota, was ranked as the best city to live in part for its "small-town atmosphere with big-city proximity." Chanhassen has a median home price of about $401,000 and a median household income of more than $125,000, the ranking shows. Rosemount, Minnesota, also made the top 50, coming in at No. 32. Golf Tournament Raises $17K For Community Orgs, Food Banks Money Magazine analyzed cities with populations of 25,000-500,000 people to keep the "focus on somewhat lesser known spots" in the country. The ranking eliminated cities where the crime risk is more than 1.5 times the national average, the median income is lower than its state's median and where population is declining, as well as cities with "effectively no ethnic diversity." Money Magazine then ranked the remaining 1,300 cities on almost 100 metrics across nine categories: cost of living; economic opportunity; diversity; education; fun and amenities; health and safety; housing market; income and personal finances; and quality of life.
