Description
CHICAGO — An Illinois Tollway ramp will be closed beginning Thursday through November for pavement reconstruction, traffic officials said.
The ramp from southbound I-294, the Tri-State Tollway, to westbound I-290, also known as the Eisenhower Expressway, will close for over a month beginning at 8 p.m. Oct. 21.
All traffic will be redirected southbound on I-294 to eastbound I-290, and drivers can then take the exit at Mannheim Road to access westbound I-290, Illinois Tollway officials said.
The closure is expected to last through the month of November.
The work is part of the $4 billion Central Tri-State reconstruction project, the goal of which is to widen the roadway spanning through the city from Balmoral to 95th streets, officials said.
