A few years ago, she formulated an all-star team of women drivers. She needed millions of dollars to run the team, but few companies stepped into the pits. Not one woman-owned or managed company became a sponsor. One issue could be that women remain a small percentage of the racing audience though more women are racing cars on the various circuits. Jackie remains determined to introduce more women into the top ranks of racing. After all, she mentored Loni Unser, the fourth-generation progeny of the Unser racing dynasty, and she has her eyes on other young female drivers.
