Description
Hi all,
I’m an experienced guitarist (20+ years) and an aspiring-but-not-terrible (2+ years) singer looking for a partner in crime to write and perform music with.
After many years of writing and playing my own stuff and a healthy dose of covers I’d like to add another layer of depth by having someone else to work on harmonies and instrumental pairings with. I think the complexity of coordinating a full band is too much to handle right now (or even in normal times?) but playing with one other person consistently seems doable and exciting.
Would love to workshop originals and covers together and have a shared creative process, ultimately working up to some small (safe/outdoor/etc) shows in the area.
I’m inspired by acoustic duos/small groups past and current who have been able to do a lot with a little: The Milk Carton Kids, Mandolin Orange, The Mountain Goats, Yo La Tengo, Beach House, Fleet Foxes, CSNY/Neil Young, etc. I also play a lot with open tunings a la Michael Hedges, Kaki King, Andy McKee, etc. and have a sweet spot for blues, jazz, and R&B.
I’m a cis male in my mid-30’s, and open to working with people of all ages/backgrounds. Ideally you would also have a pretty solid set of skills with an instrument (guitar, mandolin, violin, banjo, etc) and singing…but no need to be a pro!
If you’d be up for a weekly-ish get together (with some potential remote collaboration to develop songs) drop me an email. I am vaccinated and have strict COVID safety measures and expect the same. Thanks!
