Description
General Accountability:
As the Maintenance Technician this role will consist primarily of performing repairs and maintenance to the building and equipment.
Specific Responsibilities:
Routine maintenance and repairs on equipment such as heating and a/c units, blowers, scrubbers; jaw crusher, and ring mills;
General building maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles and painting;
Light plumbing and carpentry work;
Work with contractors and/or suppliers;
Be available for on-call projects;
Must possess a valid driver’s license to go on errands for the department;
Must pick-up, transport and purchase building materials and maintenance items;
Assists with maintaining all log books and maintenance records/schedules;
Other duties as assigned.

Strong mechanical aptitude;
Metal Fabrication;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Strong command of the English language;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Excellent problem solving skills;
Ability to work under general supervision;
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Ability to exercise diplomacy and tact.
Required Qualification:
Experience in general building repairs and operations;
Experience working with electrical systems, plumbing, pneumatics, carpentry, drywall and/or painting will be an asset;
Forklift experience will be considered an asset.
