Sr. Maintenance Technician Salary Range: $ 24.27-$34.12 Actual offers will be determined by the candidate’s creditable years of experience in conjunction with internal equity considerations and based on the organization’s current compensation practices. Job Summary Works within the vision, mission and philosophy of the agency. Has overall responsibility for maintenance projects for assigned locations. Leads projects and supports the PPO Director as requested. Required to work on varied tasks including in repairing and maintaining buildings, equipment and machinery. Types of projects will include, but are not limited to carpentry, electrical, basic mechanics, painting, plumbing and construction. Serves as project manager on maintenance jobs and supporting large office moves. Ensures adherence to the agency requirements, policy, contracts and licensing standards. Typically works independently at a location with limited supervision. Essential Duties 1. Oversees the comprehensive preventative maintenance and energy conservation program to assure optimal cost effective use of all electrical and mechanical equipment required to operate the physical plant and to maintain aesthetic qualities of the facilities. 2. Responsible for the maintenance of plumbing, heating, ventilation, and electrical equipment for all assigned facilities. Coordinates with building management where needed. 3. Coordinates and monitors work of external venders, providing services and ensuring projects are completed on time. 4. Coordinates internal storages and moves of offices, furniture and equipment. 5. Creates work orders and prioritizes work to be completed. 6. Ensures the completion of monthly checklists for building repair and outages. Works with building management for the maintenance work of external structural repairs and/or modifications of buildings and facilities. 7. Estimates needs and requisitions equipment and supplies; 8. Models how and ensures Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are maintained and updated as necessary. 9. Complies with safe OSHA work practices, demonstrating personal protective equipment (PPE) usage to staff. 10. Coordinates and confers with the PPO Manager to install, maintain, and service all security, safety and emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, intercom systems, service schedules, and receives/responds to alarm system calls. Assists in contacting appropriate external agencies to schedule inspections and obtain required permits. Assists with the disposal of hazardous waste and chemicals. 11. Participates in and has knowledge of agency wide prevention maintenance and safety programs. Participates as a member of the agency wide Illness and Injury Prevention Program (IIPP) 12. Models and mentors others on how to operate, maintain, and make repairs on maintenance and mechanical equipment to ensure cleaning and maintenance responsibilities are performed timely and effectively. 13. Demonstrates how to utilize vehicle and equipment maintenance procedures to other PPO staff when needed. 14. Performs a variety of drafts and designs of blueprints and plans for maintenance and repairs. 15. Coordinates all internal storages and moves of offices, furniture and equipment. 16. Experience Requirements • Minimum of three (7) years progressive and upward movement experience in performing all aspects of building and grounds maintenance and prevention. • Must have valid and current certification as a Journey Level in a minimum of one trade such as an Electrician, Mechanic, Carpenter, Plumber, HVAC, or etc. • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, county, and local building code, maintenance, and safety policies, procedures, codes, ordinances, rules and regulations. • Strong working knowledge of OSHA workplace and safety guidelines and procedures. • Ability to support other sites including Sacramento Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience in a lead maintenance or training role. • Experience or certified in maintenance (i.e. mechanical, structural, groundwork) or from OSHA, EPA, FEMA or emergency preparedness. HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS • Haz Mat Responder and Competent Person certifications from the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) or California State Fire Marshall (CSFM) is highly desirable. • Confined Space Entry permit. Other Specific Requirements • Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance. • Valid California Driver's license with two years of experience driving and clean driving record is required.
