POSITION TITLE: Janitor POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for janitorial work at the facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Responsible for dusting partitions, windows and office furniture. - Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms. - Responsible for vaccuming offices, hallways, conference rooms and furniture. - Responsible for shampooing carpets and upholstery. - Lock and unlock assigned buildings, secure building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights. - Responsible for picking-up trash and recycled paper. - Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary. - Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure. - Thoroughly clean restroom surfaces, including but not limited to, toilets, counters, mirrors. - Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas. - Responsible for mopping marble, linoleum, wooden and concrete floors. - Wash walls. Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors. - Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed. - Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, special events, etc. - Observes the appearances and conditions of premises and equipment, report needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services. - Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition. - Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times. EDUCATION: High School YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years
