Description
Hello, I've sought work, with little success, as well as help from outside sources, but get even less help, so I'm seeking work by other means.
I am type 1 diabetic of 25+ years, fighting a constant battle with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, as such seeking work that can both aid me with my expenses, but work with my schedule and diseases. My neuropathy has severely limited me, however, so for instance, if I was able to work on a Monday, part time, I typically trade one good day of errands/work, etc., for 1-2 days of recovery, as I'm near unable to walk, suffer from migraines, ache, etc. So, I would need part time schedule of Monday/Thursday, possibly Mon/Wed/Fri.
Past work experience I've had is with the Department of Public Health, working as an Office Assistant, and I'm able to take care of many typical office tasks, and type 90+ WPM with 99% accuracy. I've worked for WAG! as both a dog walker and pet sitter. And, most recently, since 2015, I've been volunteering with County Elections helping run various polling places during both California's General and Presidential Elections.
I strive to take care of myself, as I've been told a majority of diabetics eventually succumb to peripheral neuropathy, but was also told that getting it so late into my life is a sign that I've been doing something right with my diabetes. That being said, much like when I was diagnosed in my teens, I've just been dealt a bad hand, and seeking aid.
I've tried looking for help with the Social Security Administration, but they deemed me fit to work, so, here I am, seeking part time work, for two workdays a week, three at most, hoping it's a enough to make ends meet. Anyone that reads this, I would greatly appreciate any type of help, or even being pointed in the right direction to receive it would be much appreciated, as it would put me either on the correct path, or better directed toward my destination.
Thank you for your time.
