Description

Duke and Bullet are great dogs! Then why do you ask are we rehoming them? Well our family adopted these brothers when they were 8 weeks old. They came from a high kill shelter in the south and were in rough shape. When we inquired we were told they were pit bull/lab mixes. We got them up to date on shots and started a wellness plan through Banfield later finding out they were absolutely not pit bull/lab mixes. After genetic testing we found out they were 50% American Foxhound and the other 50% were random breeds including Chow chow and Australian shephard. As the pups grew they started learning basic commands and became pretty obedient. However they started showing breed traits that do not work for our family such as food stealing and scent chasing. We have 3 sons and are located on a farm with lots of land. The boys are usually good off leash in the yard but as they are maturing they have have starting ignoring my commands when they catch a scent making it hard to keep my children safe while chasing them. They also will stop at nothing to steal food and having 3 children under 12 makes it easy for them to get in trouble. I want to see these boys in a home that can offer them love first of all, but preferably has hound experience. They love to snuggle, are good with dogs, cats, and children and would be great family pets. We just do not have experience with this breed and need a security dog to watch the farm and our kids, not a dog that will chase a smell. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY! Small rehoming fee applies. Call or text anytime.
