Turning of the Hour
A live celebration of the Celtic, English, French, and Québecois traditions
On their impressive own, keyboard geniuses Karen Axelrod and Rachel Bell are pure gold. Gather them together on one stage as Peregrine Road, and we fortunate listeners unrresistingly succumb to their deft, elegant, mellifluous way with a tune. Their approach to traditional music is sometimes propulsive, always lyrical, and a bit too seductive for the dancers among us. Too, their off-the-cuff commentary is droll enough to thaw even us New Englanders – imagine! (Rachel and Karen asked us whether it's legal to play two accordions at once in Stonington....)
This is their Music Matters début. Can you resist?
Our north-wall stage set-up – a still-new visual delight – will beautifully support this magical duo in the transparent La Grua Center acoustic.
Please note: there is no reserved seating; all seating is on a first come, first served basis. Doors open 1/2 hour prior to the start of the event.
La Grua Center is a small nonprofit cultural arts center—open to all—offering a wide variety of concerts, talks, and art exhibitions in a welcoming space located in Stonington Borough.
