Description

Integrating psychedelics, Afro-Caribbean religions, and mental health, with Pablo G. Cabral Juan. In this conversation, Pablo G. Cabral Juan will bring his own journey of integrating plant medicine with the Afro-Caribbean religions he practices and his role as a mental health professional. Through a series of interviews with his elders he explores the role of plants and healing in light of the different religious paths and how he might make sense of that into his practice and identity as a person and mental health professional. Pablo G. Cabral Juan is a 31 year old cisgender heterosexual Puertorrican man. He is a licensed psychologist in Puerto Rico and is currently finishing his PhD studies in clinical psychology with a special focus in researching psychedelics and their contribution on human flourishing. He is initiated and practices, along with his family and elders, the Yoruba religion, Nkisi Malongo Yaya religion, and Spiritism as they are practiced in the Caribbean. This will be a hybrid event both in person and via zoom at the link below: https://life.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1649fccb87f5b2d79f66c89f7&id=4b50c187bc&e=51e05df6c5
